William Clement

William Clement, MD, was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, and as a member of that house proceeded AB 1590, AM 1594. On the 6th November, 1596, being then 27 years of age, he was entered on the physic line at Leyden. He was a doctor of medicine of Padua, was admitted a Licentiate of the College of Physicians 6th September, 1605, a Candidate 8th January, 1605-6, and a Fellow 5th June, 1607. He was Censor 1612, 1622, 1628, 1630, 1633; was named an Elect 29th March, 1628, in place of Dr Herring, deceased; and on the 3rd December, 1629, succeeded Dr Fox as Registrar – an office which he held till his death, on the 12th May, 1636. Dr Clement was physician to Christ’s Hospital.(1)
