Lorna Carne Davies

Lorna Carne Davies was a consultant physician in geriatric medicine in Aylesbury. She was born in Glamorgan, the daughter of William Davies, a chest physician. Her mother’s maiden name was Carne. Her brother became an anaesthetist. She was educated at Barry Grammar School and went on to study medicine at University College London, qualifying in 1949.

After house jobs and a senior registrar post in medicine at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, she was a senior registrar in geriatric medicine in Oxford. In November 1965, she was appointed as a consultant in Aylesbury, at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

She enjoyed reading and gardening. She was unmarried and was survived by her nephews, Steven, Neil, Mark and Peter.
