Albert Brian Malcolm McMaster

Albert Brian Malcolm McMaster, known as Brian, was a principal general practitioner in Yeovil, Somerset. He was born in Yeovil, the son of James Craig McMaster, a gynaecologist, and Sarah Barbara Malcolm McMaster née Leslie, a housewife. He was educated at Sherborne and went on to Keble College, Oxford and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School. He qualified in 1958.

He was a house surgeon and house physician at Barts and then a house physician at the London Chest Hospital. In 1960 he joined the RAF, where he was a flight lieutenant and then a squadron leader in the medical branch.

In April 1966 he became a general practitioner in Yeovil. He was also a clinical assistant at Yeovil District Hospital.

He enjoyed sailing, golf and bridge.

In 1958, he married Elizabeth St Denys Martin, known as Bess. They had a daughter, Julia and a son, James, and five grandchildren – Ella, Alexander, Rosie, Charlie and George.
