Wilfred Hezlet Cary

Wilfred Hezlet Cary was a consultant paediatrician at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He was born in Sydney, the son of Wilfred H Cary, a financier, and educated at Knox Grammar School, Wahroonga, New South Wales. He went on to study medicine at Sydney University.

He held junior posts in Sydney and then travelled to the UK for postgraduate training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

From 1952 he was a consultant paediatrician at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He wrote papers on convulsions in childhood and amniocentesis.

Outside medicine he enjoyed golf and horse racing.

He was married to Judith Marieanne née Thompson, the daughter of a master builder. They had two sons and a daughter.
