Thomas Cole

Thomas Cole received his medical education at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, where he was senior scholar and Wix and Bentley prizeman. Having graduated in 1868 and acted as resident at the City of London Hospital for Diseases of the Chest, he joined an uncle in Bath and quickly acquired a large practice in the town and its neighbouring counties. He was on the staff of the Western Dispensary, Bath, for a time, but his main appointment was as physician to the Royal United Hospital, which he held from 1871 until he was forced by ill health to resign in 1898. He was survived by his widow and three children.
