Andrew Steven Truman White

Andrew Steven Truman White was a geriatrician at Worthing Hospital. He was born in Nottingham, the son of Geoffrey Charles White, an occupational psychologist, and Maureen Hilary White, a schoolteacher. He attended Whitgift School in Croydon, and then studied medicine at Guy’s Hospital in London, graduating in 1980.

Between 1990 and 1993 he was a senior registrar in the Southampton and Bournemouth area. He was then appointed as a consultant physician in medicine for the elderly at Worthing in West Sussex. From 1995 he was also clinical director.

Whilst still a student, in 1975, he represented the UK at modern pentathlon.

In 1988, he married Mary Leonora ‘Leo’ Gallagher, a nurse. They had a son, Nicholas, and a daughter, Andrea. He died suddenly at home.
