Charles Brown, second son of Joseph Brown of Hackney, matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford, in 1829, and graduated as B.A. in 1832 and B.M. in 1838. During his career, he held appointments as physician-accoucheur at the Royal Dispensary, Pimlico, Queen Charlotte’s Lying-In Hospital, and St. George’s and St. James’s Dispensary.
