Roger George Price Rees

Roger George Price Rees was a consultant physician and gastroenterologist in Rugby. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand, the son of Maurice George Rees, a businessman, and Dorothy Mary Rees, a state registered nurse. He was educated at Otahuhu College, Auckland, and then Otago University, Dunedin, qualifying in 1970.

He held pre-registration appointments at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, in 1971. Between 1983 and 1990 he was a senior research fellow and honorary senior registrar in the department of gastroenterology and nutrition, Central Middlesex Hospital.

In 1995 he was appointed as a consultant physician and gastroenterologist at Hospital of St Cross, Rugby. From 1995 to 1998, he was also clinical director of medicine there. He wrote papers on parenteral and enteral nutrition, among other subjects.

At the time of his election to the fellowship of the RCP he listed natural history, conchology (the study of mollusc shells) and shooting as his interests.

In 1978 he married Joyce Valerie Rees, a registered general nurse and midwife. They had one son and three daughters.
