Kenneth Hollinrake

Kenneth Hollinrake was a consultant general physician and cardiologist at George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, and Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry. He was born in Burnley, the son of Walter Hollinrake, a silk merchant. He was educated at Colne Grammar School, and then went on to study medicine at University College, London.

He held house posts at University College Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital. In 1962 he was a senior house officer in general medicine at St Olaves Hospital, London. He went on to become a registrar in general medicine and chest diseases at St Charles Hospital and then a registrar in neurology at the Royal Free. He then moved to the west Midlands, as a consultant physician at Coventry.

He was interested in athletics, boxing and rugby at university, and later swimming and walking. He enjoyed gardening and was interested in geneaology. He married Pamela Stevens, the daughter of a businessman, in 1960. They had a son and a daughter, and four grandchildren. He died from metastatic gastric carcinoma.
