Phimol Rajjayabun

Phimol Rajjayabun was a consultant physician for the elderly at Halifax General Hospital. He was born in Bangkok, Thailand, where his father, Sumon Rajjayabun, was a civil servant. He was educated at Assumption College, Bangkok, and then went on to St Andrews to study medicine. He completed his clinical studies at Dundee Royal Infirmary.

He held house officer posts at the Bridge of Earn Hospital, Perthshire, and at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow. He was a registrar at the Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary and a registrar and subsequently a senior registrar at the Dundee teaching hospitals. In 1975 he was appointed consultant physician for the elderly at Halifax General Hospital. He wrote papers on endocrinology and geriatrics.

He married his wife June in 1964 and they had one son and a daughter.

At the time of his election to the Fellowship of the College in 1991 he listed golf, photography and swimming among his interests.
