John Twysden, MD – A native of Kent, and a doctor of medicine of Angers of 1646, incorporated at Oxford 6th November, 1651; was admitted a Candidate of the College of Physicians 22nd December, 1654; and a Fellow, 20th October, 1664.

He was the author of the following works:-
Medicina Veterum Vindicata; or, an Answer to a Book entitled Medela Medicinæ. Lond. 8vo. 1666.
Answer to Medicina Instaurata. Lond. 8vo. 1666.
The Use of the Great Planisphere, called the Anulemma, in the Resolution of some of the chief and most useful Problems of Astronomy. Lond. 4to. 1685.
