Edward Oakes

b.? d.?

Edward Oakes, a student of medicine from Harvard college, Cambridge, New England, was admitted a Licentiate of the College of Physicians 25th June, 1661. He is doubtless the “Mr Oakes, a physician dwelling in Shadwell, who after the fire of London gave evidence before a Committee appointed by Parliament to inquire ‘touching the insolvency of Popish priests and Jesuits, and the increase of Popery.’”(1)
