Stephen Hall

Stephen Hall was a son of Mr. Henry Hall, a citizen and merchant taylor of London, who died 31st March, 1730. He had practised for some years as a surgeon in London, but, having relinquished that branch of the profession, was on the 1st February, 1708-9, admitted an Extra-Licentiate of the College of Physicians. He was subsequently appointed physician to Greenwich hospital, and died 29th October, 1731, aged fifty-six. He was buried in the family vault at West Ham, and is commemorated with his father and other members of his family on a handsome altar tomb there.
