Joseph Gaylard

b.1657 d.?
MD Leyden(1688) MD Cantab(1693)

Joseph Gaylard, MD – A native of Exeter, was entered on the physic line at Leyden, 23rd April, 1683, being then twenty-six years of age. He graduated doctor of medicine at Leyden, 20th June, 1688; was incorporated at Cambridge 5th July, 1693; and was admitted a Candidate of the College of Physicians 2nd April, 1694. He was, I believe, one of the three surgeons to the duke of Monmouth, in the rebellion of 1685, on the failure of which he seems to have escaped to the continent.
