William (Sir) Duncan

Sir William Duncan, Bart., M.D., was a doctor of medicine of the university of St. Andrew’s of 4th May, 1751; and was admitted a Licentiate of the College of Physicians 30th September, 1756. He was appointed physician in ordinary to George the Third shortly after his accession to the throne, and was created a baronet in 1764, the year preceding which he had married lady Mary, daughter of Sackville, earl of Thanet. Sir William Duncan died at Naples in 1774. His body was brought to England, and buried at Hampstead.
